$323K Farmingville Paving Project Completed

A $323,000 road improvement project in Farmingville has been completed, resurfacing several local roads and making drainage and concrete repairs along the way.

Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilman Neil Manzella announced the completion of the project, which included Fleetwood Drive, Mt. White Avenue and Old Medford Avenue from Horseblock Road to Granny Road.

Before resurfacing began, Brookhaven Highway Department crews inspected drainage infrastructure throughout the project area. Workers also replaced damaged concrete curbing and aprons before new pavement was installed.

The total cost of the project was approximately $323,000, according to the town.

Officials highlighted the work along Old Medford Avenue because of the amount of traffic the roadway handles, including school-related traffic.

“This stretch of Old Medford Avenue is heavily-traveled and was in need of repair,” Losquadro said. “I was grateful to include its resurfacing in our 2026 paving season.”

Manzella said completing the work was particularly important because the roadway is regularly used by school buses and parents.

“With this being such a heavily traveled road used by buses and parents during school drop-off, the timing of this project is ideal,” Manzella said. “I’m grateful that the Highway Department and its outstanding team were able to complete a great repaving of Old Medford Avenue here in Farmingville.”

The Farmingville work is part of the town’s ongoing road maintenance and resurfacing program, which includes evaluating pavement conditions and addressing related infrastructure before roads receive new asphalt.

By inspecting drainage and repairing damaged curbs and aprons before resurfacing, crews addressed infrastructure underneath and alongside the affected roads as part of the overall project.
