A Spooktacular Night for a Worthy Cause
Halloween festival draws a great turnout as families enjoy an evening of costumes, community spirit and safe indoor fun while supporting Colonial Youth’s holiday food and toy drive.

Halloween came early to Mastic Beach Thursday night as a crowd of youngsters and their families turned out for a Halloween Festival hosted by Assemblyman Joe DeStefano and fellow community leaders.
The Mastic Beach Property Owners Association hall on Neighborhood Road was filled with excited children, colorful decorations and some outstanding costumes as families enjoyed a safe, indoor celebration.
“What a fantastic turnout! It was wonderful seeing so many children having a great time and showing off their incredible costumes,” DeStefano said. “We wanted to give our youngsters a safe place to celebrate Halloween, off the streets and away from traffic, and bring families together for a fun evening.”
The assemblyman thanked the volunteers and community organizations that helped make the event possible.
The festival was co-hosted by Colonial Youth and Family Services, Suffolk County Legislator Jim Mazzarella, Brookhaven Councilwoman Karen Dunne Kesnig and the Mastic Beach Property Owners Association.
The celebration also supported Colonial Youth’s annual Thanksgiving and Christmas food and toy drive, which aims to assist 250 local families this holiday season.
With smiles everywhere and an impressive assortment of creative costumes and piles of donations for local families, a good time was had by all.
