For the first time, Adventureland’s Helping Hands Foundation will sponsor Pumpkin Park, scheduled for October 31st, Halloween night, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Families can ride attractions including the Turbulence Coaster, Music Express and Ferris Wheel before heading to Sweet Street for trick-or-treating. Children are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes, and Pumpkin Park activities are included with park admission.
Fifteen participating organizations will each receive $1,000 from the foundation while setting up along Sweet Street to distribute candy and connect with families. Recipients include EJ’s PJs, Rise Life Services, the Marty Lyons Foundation, Arthritis Foundation, Jericho Cares, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Long Island Museum, Viscardi Center, CancerCare, Happily Ever After Rescue, Bethany House, New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, Daniela Conte Foundation, KiDS NEED MoRE, and Guide Dog Foundation and America’s VetDogs.
“The Marty Lyons Foundation is a proud partner of Adventureland Helping Hands Foundation,” Executive Director Sandra White said, adding that the organization looks forward to sharing “a special day with the local community.”
Adventureland’s Helping Hands Foundation was established in 2013 and says it has raised more than $2.5 million for Long Island causes.
