Ex-School Custodian Admits Filming Child Sex Abuse

A former Lindenhurst school custodian has admitted to filming himself sexually abusing a child and sharing the horrific material with others, Suffolk County prosecutors announced.

Brian Woehr, 41, of Lindenhurst, pleaded guilty to two counts of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance as a Sexually Motivated Felony, both class C felonies.

Woehr is expected to receive 17 years in state prison, followed by 15 years of post-release supervision, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney’s office. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender.

“The admitted actions of this defendant are deplorable,” Tierney said. “Children deserve protection and trust from the adults around them, and Brian Woehr violated both in an unconscionable way.”

The investigation began April 30th, 2025, when Suffolk County Police’s Digital Forensics Unit received a tip involving multiple child sexual abuse images allegedly uploaded to a local Google account.

The tip came through the New York State Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Investigators executed a search warrant at Woehr’s Lindenhurst home that same day and seized his cellphone.

Prosecutors said a forensic examination uncovered videos and images Woehr had produced and shared. The material depicted Woehr sexually abusing a prepubescent child.

He was arrested at the scene.

Woehr entered his guilty plea before Acting Supreme Court Justice Karen M. Wilutis.

Prosecutors said the case was investigated by Suffolk County Police Detective Joseph Gonzalez and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Melissa Grier of the Child Abuse and Domestic Violence Bureau.
