Fall Market Brings Local Vendors To Moriches

The Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library is inviting residents to shop local and enjoy the season with its Fall Market @ Moriches, an outdoor community market featuring handcrafted goods, specialty foods and family activities.

The two markets will be held Thursday, Sept. 24, and Thursday, Oct. 1, from 3 to 6:30 p.m. on the lawn of the Moriches Branch at 201 Montauk Highway.

A variety of local vendors and artisans will offer handcrafted items, artwork, gifts, specialty products, foods and other distinctive finds. The afternoons will also feature face painting, seasonal photo opportunities and activities designed to make the market an outing for the entire family.

“The Fall Market is a wonderful opportunity to bring neighbors together while giving local artists, craftspeople, and small businesses a place to share what they create,” Library Director Lonna Castro said. “We hope people will stop by, browse, discover something special, and enjoy a fall afternoon with family and friends.”

Library Board of Trustees President Joseph A. Maiorana said the event reflects the library’s broader mission of serving as a gathering place where residents can make connections beyond books and traditional library programs.

“The library is at its best when it creates opportunities for people to connect with one another and with the community around them,” Maiorana said. “The Fall Market supports local creativity and entrepreneurship while giving residents another reason to gather and enjoy the Moriches Branch.”

A limited number of vendor spaces remain available, with no fee for approved exhibitors. Vendors retain all proceeds from their booths. Artists, craftspeople, specialty food vendors and others interested in participating can apply through the library or contact its events staff.
