The Greater Gordon Heights Chamber of Commerce will bring residents, families and local businesses together for its first Thanksgiving Community Breakfast on Tuesday, November 24, offering a free meal and an opportunity to celebrate the holiday season.

The event will begin at 10 a.m. at the Mott House, located at 68 Middle Country Road in Coram. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome to attend.

Organizers say the breakfast is designed to provide a warm meal and a welcoming environment for individuals and families, particularly those experiencing financial hardship or needing additional support during the holidays.

The gathering will also highlight the importance of community involvement, with local businesses and nonprofit organizations joining forces to help residents celebrate Thanksgiving.

"We believe community is not just about where we live. It is about how we show up for one another. Our first Thanksgiving Community Breakfast is an opportunity to put those words into action. We want people to walk through the door, enjoy a warm meal, feel welcomed, and know that they matter. This is what community should look like," said Edna White, president of the Greater Gordon Heights Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber is organizing the breakfast in partnership with 2nd Chance Inc. and Come Up Thrift. Additional support is being provided by McDonald's of Coram, Dare to Dream and Island Works.

Organizers hope the breakfast will strengthen relationships among residents, businesses and community organizations while providing an opportunity for neighbors to connect during the holiday season.

The Chamber also hopes the inaugural gathering will become an annual Thanksgiving tradition serving Gordon Heights and surrounding communities.

The Greater Gordon Heights Chamber of Commerce works to support local businesses, encourage economic opportunities and strengthen community connections throughout the area.
