Man Sentenced to Six Years in Prison for Sexually Abusing Three Girls at Medford T.J. Maxx
Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney said Jimmy Harry Velasquezgomez pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree sexual abuse. Ten years of post-release supervision will follow.

A man was sentenced Friday, Oct. 9, to six years in prison for sexually abusing three girls at the T.J. Maxx in Medford in 2025, Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced.
Jimmy Harry Velasquezgomez, 44, pleaded guilty Aug. 27 before Acting Supreme Court Justice Karen M. Wilutis to three counts of first-degree sexual abuse, class D violent felonies. Prosecutors said he admitted grabbing the girls inside the store on three separate occasions in 2025.
The court sentenced him to three concurrent six-year terms, to be followed by 10 years of post-release supervision. The court issued full stay-away orders of protection for each victim, and he was certified as a sex offender. His attorney was Daniel Belano.
Suffolk County police gathered evidence that included surveillance video showing Velasquezgomez inside the store on each of the three dates, the District Attorney's office said. He was arrested Nov. 1, 2025, in East Islip and has remained in custody since.
"Every parent should be able to let their young child walk to the next aisle at a store without fear," Tierney said. "This defendant violated that basic trust three times, targeting young girls in places where they should have been safe. Today, he has been held accountable for his actions and sentenced for the harm he caused."
Assistant District Attorney Alexandra Raso of the Child Abuse and Domestic Violence Bureau prosecuted the case. Detective Jhon Puentes of the Suffolk County Police Department's Special Victims Section led the investigation.
