Moloney Funeral Homes began as a family business in 1933, founded by James P. Moloney in Central Islip, and has grown to seven locations across Suffolk County. The business remains family-owned, with a fifth generation now working in the company.
Dan Moloney Jr., who has served as president for more than 25 years, is joined by his daughter, Danielle Moloney-Hassett, and nephew, Nicholas Wheeler, in carrying on the family's legacy of service and commitment to the community.
The company strives to maintain the highest standards while providing the personal touch of a family-owned business.
Being part of the community means not only serving local families as if they were their own, but also supporting local businesses, chambers of commerce and community events. Building trust and relationships remains a large part of the company's mission. Each year, Moloney Funeral Homes participates in local parades and street fairs, providing opportunities to meet members of the community.
Its seven locations offer state-of-the-art facilities, including technology, unique personalization options, food service and more. The company's main location in Lake Ronkonkoma offers a Tribute Center and The Garden, which are used for celebrations of life, committal services, events and other gatherings.
Moloney Funeral Homes also offers free educational seminars, lunch-and-learns and presentations on the benefits of advanced funeral planning.
Though many people may be reluctant to plan for the end of life, the company says families often find the information helpful when making arrangements for an elderly parent or planning for themselves. Staff members are available to answer questions in a relaxed environment.
Visitors to the Center Moriches location may meet team members Chris or Diana, who are available to assist local families.
