Patriotic Art Takes Center Stage In Ronkonkoma

Patriotic paintings, sculptures and portraits of American political figures will fill the America First Warehouse in Ronkonkoma when the Great American Art Exhibition opens Friday, Oct. 2.

The exhibition, scheduled from 8 to 11 p.m. at 90 13th Ave., will feature original artwork for sale and give visitors an opportunity to meet the artists. Admission is $30, or $50 for two.

“We’re honored to bring together such an extraordinary group of patriotic artists whose work celebrates America, its history and the freedoms that allow artists to express themselves,” said Joe the Box of the America First Warehouse. “This is an opportunity for people to experience that creativity up close and meet the artists behind it.”

Among the featured artists is Staten Island’s Scott LoBaido, who has spent more than three decades creating American flag artwork across the country, including flag murals in all 50 states. His work has focused on patriotism, veterans, first responders and American identity.

Lena Ruseva, known professionally as MAGA Langelo, specializes in patriotic portraits, many depicting President Donald Trump and other conservative figures with American flag imagery. Ruseva says one of her Trump paintings has been displayed in the White House.

Bolivian-born David Banegas began exhibiting his work at age 11 in Brazil and later studied under Japanese art instructor Masaiko Fujita. Known for energetic, heavily textured portraits, his works include vivid interpretations of Trump and other cultural figures.

Sicilian-born sculptor Sergio Furnari has worked in sculpture since childhood and is known for his life-size “Lunchtime on a Skyscraper” installation. His work includes pieces in terracotta, porcelain, bronze and stainless steel.

Also appearing are Long Island painter and muralist Chelsea Carol, whose work emphasizes patriotic themes; Nelson Medina, a longtime pinstriper and designer who turned to painting following a serious accident; and artist Jerry Boertzel.

The show brings the artists together under one roof for an evening built around art, patriotism and American culture.
