Democrat Insider Breaks From Party, Tells All

Lindy Li spent years inside the Democrat Party’s upper circles, raising millions of dollars and working with major donors before a dramatic political break she now chronicles in her new book, “Unburdened: A Former Democrat Insider’s Shocking Account of Political Power, Betrayal, and Party Collapse.”

Li, who raised money for both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, says she ultimately decided she could no longer remain silent about what she had witnessed. She left the Democrat Party in December 2024 and later became a Republican.

“I don’t think I could have lived with myself had I not told the truth,” Li said in a recent interview with Fox News.

In a series of interviews surrounding the book’s release, Li has alleged that Democrat insiders privately harbored concerns about Biden’s ability to continue his 2024 campaign while publicly defending him.

“Whatever was out there, it wasn’t the truth,” Li told Fox News, saying she believed fear of being ostracized discouraged party figures from speaking openly.

Li also takes aim at Harris’ campaign, alleging the vice president privately cultivated Biden donors shortly before he withdrew while publicly maintaining her support for his candidacy.

Breaking ranks came with consequences, Li says. She has described losing friends and tens of thousands of social-media followers, facing political ostracism and even receiving a threatened lawsuit from Biden’s daughter Ashley after speaking publicly about the former president.

“They wanted to scare me. That was the goal,” Li said of the threatened legal action, which she says came in an Instagram post that was later removed. No lawsuit ultimately materialized.

Li says the experience reinforced her decision to speak publicly about what she witnessed inside Democrat politics, despite the personal consequences.

The 256-page book, published by HarperCollins, turns Li’s political transformation into a firsthand account of what she says happened behind the scenes during one of the Democrat Party’s most turbulent periods.
