Faith-Based Group Seeks Greater Voter Participation
Million Voices expands its nationwide outreach ahead of the 2026 midterm elections, working with pastors and churches to encourage Christian voters to become more involved in the political process.

A national organization dedicated to bringing Christian values into the political process is stepping up its efforts to encourage voter participation in the November 3 elections, targeting Americans who have traditionally stayed away from the polls.
Million Voices, led by attorney and Christian activist John Graves, is conducting a nationwide voter education and mobilization campaign aimed at helping people of faith become more involved in elections at the local, state and federal levels.
The organization is promoting its 2026 candidate fact sheets covering major races in battleground states. The guides outline candidates' positions on major issues and are designed to help voters make informed decisions before heading to the polls.
The organization traces its roots to the work of Texas pastor Rick Scarborough, who founded Vision America in 1998. Scarborough served as senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Pearland, near Houston, from 1990 to 2002, where he encouraged Christians to become involved in government and community affairs.
Scarborough currently leads Recover America, a national organization that trains pastors and church leaders to promote biblical values in public policy and encourage their congregations to participate in elections. His organization conducts training sessions, conferences and outreach programs for religious leaders across the country.
Million Voices is also promoting its Pledge to Vote initiative, encouraging citizens to commit to participating in the midterm elections. Participants can receive information about volunteer opportunities, letter-writing campaigns, voter outreach programs and serving as election poll workers.
Through its Write Now campaign, volunteers contact infrequent voters with personalized letters encouraging them to participate in elections. The organization also employs digital outreach and text-sharing programs to spread its message.
Million Voices has joined forces with My Faith Votes, an organization previously chaired by Mike Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor who now serves as the U.S. ambassador to Israel, bringing together two established Christian voter outreach efforts.
“My passion for this ministry remains steadfast because I know how critically important it is to continue in the work to mobilize Christian voters to influence the direction of this great nation,” said Huckabee, whose daughter Sarah Huckabee Sanders, followed in her father’s footsteps as governor.
Graves has emphasized the importance of Christian participation in government, particularly on issues involving religious liberty, parental rights, education and the protection of unborn children.
With control of Congress and numerous state offices at stake in November, Million Voices is focusing on mobilizing voters who share its faith-based priorities but have not consistently participated in previous elections.
The organization maintains that greater involvement by people of faith can influence public policy and strengthen their representation in government, from Washington to local communities.
