President Trump puts GOP back in the fight as he returns a GOP Rally Chairman

President Donald J. Trump is playing offense and defense as he executes an aggressive rally schedule that recalls his presidential campaigns.
A key factor is the introduction of airport rallies, so far in Georgia and Arizona, which are the hallmark of a campaign running through the tape.
Airport rallies are quickly planned and organized. The crowd packs out a hangar, Air Force One pulls up — and it is on. When the president is done, AF1 pulls away and goes wheels up to the next rally.
Whatever a national campaign tells reporters, the true signal from the tower is the airport rally, which reveals places the campaign needs to defend or where it can attack.
A great example is the newly added rally in Greenville, North Carolina, in support of GOP Senate hopeful Michael Whatley and GOP House hopeful Laurie Buckout.
Both Republicans and Democrats seemed to be pulling money from the Tar Heel State, part of the regular triage as Election Day approaches.
Somehow, nobody told Trump it was over there.
Now, the president regularly mentions how the Democrat running against Whatley for governor released 83 murderers as part of a COVID-19 pandemic opening of the state prison doors.
Roy Cooper effected the accelerated release of 3,500 inmates — and those 83 murderers?
Of the 83 murderers, 51 were serving life sentences, and those freed men were responsible for 25 murders.
Trump keeps leaning in, and Tuesday's rally at Pitt-Greenville Airport is proof of concept.
The president took a break from the hustings Saturday, when he was present for the reopening of his Mar-a-Lago dinner club for the season.
But it was not all fun and games, because he made it back from his Kentucky rally to join a MAGA Inc. candlelight fundraiser.
MAGA Inc. took over payments for the president's TV ads that had run as government-sponsored announcements and, over the weekend, blanketed NFL games with ads attacking Democrats for opposing his No Tax on Tips policy.
As of deadline, the president has seven rallies on the books: South Carolina, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Iowa, Georgia and Iowa.
Look for Ohio and Minnesota rallies to be put up on the board.
Trump is on the road, and no Democrat is safe anymore.
