Two Parties, Two Very Different Futures

The choices are clear as Democrats and Republicans offer sharply different visions for New York’s future.

Both sides have made their case in this year’s election, and there’s a world of difference between the two. The Democrats have lurched far to the left, driven by an aggressive push by the Democratic Socialists, while the Republicans are sticking to their conservative roots.

The cost of living — affordability — has taken center stage in a contest that has also put the spotlight on taxes, crime, illegal immigration, and the role of government in our everyday lives.

Even though he’s not on the ballot, President Trump looms large. Gov. Kathy Hochul, in her debate with Bruce Blakeman, mentioned him more than 20 times.

In response, the Nassau County Executive stated, “You like to talk about Donald Trump all the time because you don't want to talk about your record, because it's a record of misery and failure.”

Unfortunately, under Hochul and the one-party Democrat system in Albany, New York leads the nation in taxes and outmigration — people who voted with their feet. Her sanctuary state agenda and the open-border policy of the Democrats have brought in thousands of immigrants to replace them at a cost of billions to already overtaxed New Yorkers.

Inflation and the high price of fuel due to Trump’s decision to take on Iran over its nuclear weapons program have given the Democrats something to run against. But they don’t mention that inflation was worse under Joe Biden, and their Green New Deal will continue to escalate prices thanks to their crusade against fossil fuels.

While Gov. Hochul budgets billions for illegal immigrants, Trump has closed the border. In Nassau, Blakeman works with Immigration and Customs Enforcement to deport violent criminals, while Hochul throws up every possible roadblock and even signed a bill making it illegal for local law enforcement to cooperate with ICE.

Hochul and the Democrats running for Congress and the state legislature have signed on with New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s Socialists, a group that wants to keep the border open, coddle criminals, and take money from the people who earn it and give it to people whose government handouts ensure their vote.

They want to defund the police, eliminate the U.S. Senate, abolish ICE, add seats to the Supreme Court, and make Puerto Rico and Washington, DC states so they can put more Democrats in Congress. They are also counting on allowing non-citizens to vote and giving amnesty to everyone who entered illegally. A government takeover of the health care system is on their agenda, eliminating private insurance, as well as restricting a citizen’s right to bear arms.

If they win the House, the Democrats will mire the nation in another Trump impeachment and go after anyone associated with him. Putting them back in charge will create a colossal mess.

Many European countries also opened the immigration floodgates and are spending enormous amounts of taxpayer money on government services. The result? France is burning, and the same groups that foment the riots in Paris are already here in the United States waiting for their cue.

Hochul, Senator Chuck Schumer, and House Speaker Hakeem Jeffries did not have the courage to speak out against cashless bail, men in women’s sports, boys in girls’ bathrooms, and transgender surgeries for fear of upsetting the far left. Now that the socialists are advancing, it’s time for the voters to act.

Early voting has begun and Election Day is Nov. 3. Get to the polls and make your voice heard. The difference between the Republicans and the Democrats is night and day, and it’s time to decide the future of our country.
