Colts Defense Is Giving Us the Green Light

The Colts are absolutely terrible on defense, allowing 514 total yards per game — the most in the NFL by nearly 60 yards. They’re also giving up 37 points per game, which is the worst mark in the league.

And somehow, it gets even worse.

Indianapolis ranks dead last in the NFL in yards per play (7.2), total yards allowed per game (514.5) and points allowed per game (37.0). The Colts also rank 31st in defensive expected points added at minus-28.3.

That is about as ugly as it gets.

Now they get to face a Texans offense that ranks in the top 10 in the NFL in yards per game. Houston should have plenty of opportunities to move the football against a defense that is allowing a whopping 5.4 yards per carry.

The formula here is pretty simple: the Colts can't stop anyone, and the Texans have the offensive firepower to take advantage of it.

So, for that reason, I'm taking the Over 20.5 Texans Team Total Points.

I'm not asking Houston to put up 35 or 40 points. We just need the Texans to get to 21, and based on what Indianapolis has shown defensively, that number is very manageable.

Give me the Texans to take advantage of one of the worst defenses in football.
