Homecoming Under the Lights

Smithtown High School East celebrated homecoming this past weekend with an evening filled with school spirit, community and plenty of excitement, highlighted by a special first for the Bulls — their first Friday night homecoming game played under the lights at Schroeder Field.

The festivities began before kickoff with a pregame carnival in the high school gymnasium. Hosted by High School East’s co-curricular clubs, the carnival featured a variety of games, activities and stations organized and run by students. Community members were invited to join in the fun, listen to live music and enjoy time together as the school prepared for a night of celebration.

As game time approached, the energy moved outside to Schroeder Field, where the Smithtown East Bulls took on the Huntington Blue Devils. Under the Friday night lights, students, families, alumni and community members filled the stands, creating an electric atmosphere for the special occasion.

The homecoming celebration continued during halftime with a performance by the Whisperettes kickline team, followed by the highly anticipated crowning of the 2026 homecoming royalty.

This year’s homecoming queen was Isabella Weidtman, while Anthony Gazzano was crowned homecoming king.

Although the Bulls ultimately fell to Huntington, 40-7, the final score could not take away from the significance of the evening. The first Friday night homecoming game under the lights at Schroeder Field gave the Smithtown East community a new tradition to remember.

From the student-run carnival to the packed stands and halftime festivities, homecoming brought students, families, alumni and community members together for a memorable night of Smithtown East pride.
