The Parkway Power Bowl trophy is heading to Longwood after the Lions defeated William Floyd, 33-20, on Saturday in the annual rivalry showdown.

The game, played for the Suffolk County Police Department Seventh Precinct’s trophy, gave Longwood a victory to remember against its local rival. The Lions put together a strong all-around performance, making plays on both sides of the ball to secure the win.

Kyon Sarwari led the way offensively, rushing for 173 yards and scoring three total touchdowns. His powerful performance helped fuel the Lions’ offense as Longwood controlled the game and found ways to put points on the board.

Mark Davis and Travis Gibbs each caught a touchdown pass, giving the Lions additional weapons in the passing game. Longwood’s offensive line also played a major role in the victory, controlling the line of scrimmage and creating opportunities for the offense throughout the afternoon.

The Lions made their presence felt on defense, too. Sarwari, Davis and Gibbs each recorded an interception, helping Longwood disrupt William Floyd’s passing attack and deliver key plays when the team needed them.

It was a complete team effort, with the offense moving the ball, the defense creating turnovers and the line up front setting the tone.

The victory also marked a significant milestone for Longwood. The Lions had not defeated William Floyd since 2015, making Saturday’s 33-20 triumph an especially meaningful moment for the program and its fans.

With the Parkway Power Bowl trophy now in Longwood’s hands, the Lions have bragging rights in the rivalry and a memorable win to carry forward.
