Playoff Run Highlights Historic Season

American Soccer Club New York took a major step forward during its second season in the National Premier Soccer League, building on its inaugural 2025 campaign with success both on and off the field.

The Fighting Tomcats enjoyed a breakthrough season, earning the first playoff berth in franchise history and advancing all the way to the North Atlantic Conference Championship before falling just one penalty kick short of reaching the NPSL National Quarterfinals.

"As we reflect on an incredible year for American Soccer Club New York, I couldn't be prouder of what our players, coaches, staff, interns, supporters, partners, and community have accomplished together," said Managing Partner and General Manager Jim Kilmeade.

The club also continued expanding its footprint across Long Island. American Soccer Club NY established historic Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale as its primary home field while also playing the first two Suffolk County matches in franchise history at Stony Brook University's LaValle Stadium.

One of the season's biggest highlights came on June 24, when the Fighting Tomcats defeated USL League One's New York Cosmos, 2-1, to capture the inaugural Kick ALS Cup. The club also celebrated a record home crowd of 1,650 fans during Bolla Market Night, another sign of the organization's growing popularity.

Head Coach John Fitzgerald praised his team's commitment throughout the season.

"I'm incredibly proud of the boys and the coaches because of their professionalism and unwavering commitment," Fitzgerald said. "Our goals were to improve from last season and qualify for the postseason, and we accomplished both."

Several players played key roles in the club's success, including goalkeeper Aidan Ganun, forwards Bradyn Brown and Junior Rosero, defenders Tommy Wagner and Ezequiel Palomeque, and midfielders Sean Fitzgerald and Leo Pinto.

Beyond the results on the field, the club continued to strengthen its ties to the community by expanding its corporate partnerships and launching the fully funded ASC NY-Bolla Market Youth Academy, giving more young players an opportunity to develop the game on Long Island.

With a playoff appearance, growing fan support, and an expanding presence throughout the region, American Soccer Club NY has laid a strong foundation for the future. Preparations are already underway for the 2027 season, and if this year was any indication, the Fighting Tomcats are only getting started.
