The Rocky Point girls volleyball program showed that its impact extends far beyond the court, coming together for an inspiring Dig Pink/Dezy Strong fundraiser against the Wyandanch Wolves this week.

The event brought together student-athletes, coaches, families and fans for a special evening centered on community support and an important cause. Both the junior varsity and varsity teams earned victories over Wyandanch, giving the Eagles plenty to celebrate while helping raise thousands of dollars for the fundraiser.

The Dezy Strong family was also on hand to join the Rocky Point community in cheering on the Eagles, making the evening even more meaningful for everyone involved.

Rocky Point officials praised the effort and support that went into making the event a success, emphasizing the importance of bringing people together through athletics.

“A huge thank-you to our student-athletes, coaches, families, fans, and everyone who helped make this night such a success,” the school shared. “This is what Rocky Point Athletics is all about — competing with pride, coming together as a community, and making a difference beyond the court.”

The message perfectly captured the spirit of the evening, which combined competitive volleyball with generosity and community pride. The fundraiser demonstrated how high school sports can provide an opportunity to support meaningful causes while bringing an entire community together.

The varsity victory also carried significance in the standings. Rocky Point improved to 5-5 in division play and has now won two of its last three matches, giving the Eagles some positive momentum as they continue their season.

Adding to the night's accomplishments, Kaylee LaFranca reached a major individual milestone by recording her 500th career kill. The achievement marked an impressive moment for the Rocky Point standout and provided another highlight during an already memorable evening.

Between the victories, the fundraising efforts and LaFranca's milestone, the Eagles had plenty of reasons to remember the matchup with Wyandanch.

Most importantly, the event showed the power of sports to unite a community around something bigger than the final score. At Rocky Point, it was a night defined by teamwork, compassion and a shared commitment to making a difference.
