Sharks Elite Cheer Team are Crowned Champions

The Long Island Sharks Elite 9-S cheer team had plenty to celebrate this past weekend, capturing first place at the Hauppauge cheer competition after an impressive performance against 10 other teams from across Long Island.

Led by Coach Nicole Cherouvis, the Sharks have worked tirelessly throughout the summer and into the fall, putting in countless hours of practice to sharpen their routines, build confidence and reach the highest levels of competition. Their hard work paid off in Hauppauge, where the team rose to the occasion and brought home the championship trophy.

Competing against 10 talented teams made the victory even more meaningful, as the Sharks had to deliver a strong performance to finish at the top of the field. For these young athletes, the first-place finish serves as a rewarding reminder of what dedication, teamwork and perseverance can accomplish.

The championship also provides valuable momentum as the team continues its season. With five competitions remaining, the Elite 9-S squad has plenty of opportunities to add more hardware to its trophy case while continuing to improve ahead of the biggest event on its schedule.

The Sharks have their sights set on Nationals on November 22, giving the team a major goal to work toward as the season progresses. With the Hauppauge title now under their belts, the girls will look to build on their success and carry that confidence into the remaining competitions.

The Elite 9-S team wasn't the only Sharks squad making noise over the weekend. The 11-S team also turned in a solid performance, while the 10-S team enjoyed a championship moment of its own by capturing first place in its division.

It was an outstanding weekend for the Long Island Sharks organization, with multiple teams showing the results of their hard work and preparation. As the road to Nationals continues, the Sharks will look to keep that momentum going and make the most of the opportunities still ahead.
