Suffolk County native Dylan Laube reached a major milestone this weekend, scoring his first NFL touchdown as the Las Vegas Raiders faced the New England Patriots.
The former New Hampshire standout found the end zone during Sunday's 45-17 loss to New England, giving Long Island football fans another reason to follow his professional journey. Although the Raiders struggled to keep pace with the Patriots, Laube made the most of his increased opportunities in the backfield.
Laube rushed four times for nine yards and a touchdown while catching all three of his targets for 16 yards. His first career touchdown came in the fourth quarter, when he punched the ball into the end zone from two yards out.
The Suffolk County product also contributed on special teams, recording 69 kickoff-return yards in the contest. His ability to contribute in multiple roles continues to be an important part of his effort to carve out a place in the NFL.
Laube entered the weekend behind starting running back Ashton Jeanty and rookie Mike Washington on the Raiders' running back depth chart. However, he received an expanded role against New England and finished second on the team in carries with four, trailing Jeanty's 10.
While the Raiders endured a difficult afternoon, Laube's touchdown was a personal breakthrough for the young running back. He has long been recognized for his pass-catching ability, and his performance against the Patriots showcased that versatility, with three receptions on three targets.

For Suffolk County football fans, seeing one of their own reach the end zone on an NFL Sunday made this weekend a memorable one.
