The Ducks are Flying into the Playoffs

The Long Island Ducks are heading back to the Atlantic League playoffs.

The Ducks clinched a berth in the 2026 Atlantic League postseason by winning the Second Half North Division Championship with a 6-1 victory over the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs in Sunday’s regular-season finale.

Long Island will begin its playoff run at home, hosting Games 1 and 2 of the best-of-five North Division Championship Series at Fairfield Properties Ballpark. Game 1 is scheduled for Tuesday, September 15, at 6:35 p.m., with Game 2 following Wednesday, September 16, at 6:35 p.m.

The series will then move to Meritus Park, home of the First Half North Division Champion Hagerstown Flying Boxcars. Games 3, 4 (if necessary) and 5 (if necessary) are scheduled for September 18-20.

Should the Ducks advance, they would host Games 3, 4 and 5 of the best-of-five Atlantic League Championship Series as part of the league’s annual alternating home-field format. Those games are scheduled for September 25-27 at Fairfield Properties Ballpark.

The Ducks would open the championship series on the road September 22 and 23 against the South Division champions, who will be either the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs or Lexington Legends.

For Long Island baseball fans, the playoff schedule gives them another opportunity to see the Ducks compete for an Atlantic League championship right at home.

With the regular season now complete, the focus shifts to postseason baseball, and the Ducks will have home-field advantage to begin their run.
