Long Island Business Awards Finalists Announced

Dozens of Long Island businesses and nonprofit organizations are in the running for honors at HIA-LI’s 32nd annual awards program later this month.

HIA-LI announced the finalists for its Long Island Business Distinction Awards, which will be presented Tuesday, September 29th, at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.

Previously known as the HIA-LI Business Achievement Awards, the newly renamed program recognizes organizations for business performance, leadership, innovation, workplace excellence and contributions to the Long Island community.

“For more than 30 years, these awards have been viewed by many as the ‘Academy Awards’ of the Long Island business community because they recognize organizations that truly set themselves apart,” HIA-LI President and CEO Terri Alessi-Miceli said.

Awards will be presented in five competitive categories: Large Business, Small Business, Micro Business, Not-for-Profit and Rookie of the Year.

Large Business finalists include CBIZ, IMEG Corp., Mason Technologies, Rimon Law, SterlingRisk and SVAM International.

Small Business finalists are Career & Employment Options, Executive Alliance Staffing Solutions, Harrow International School New York, HOZIO and National EAP. The Micro Business category includes Apprenticeship Connections, Nassau Industrial Supply, Pearl Dental Studio and Turn One Studio.

Twelve organizations were named finalists in the Not-for-Profit category, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island, Girl Scouts of Suffolk County, Paws of War, The Marty Lyons Foundation and United Veterans Beacon House.

Six businesses are finalists for Rookie of the Year, including Driving Academy, Event Pros, Grit & Grace, Philanthropy Network of New York, UpwellMe and You and Me By The Sea Travel.

HIA-LI will also present its Community Partnership Award to the Suffolk Y Jewish Community Center in Commack.
