Blue Öyster Cult Founder Rocks LIMEHOF

Blue Öyster Cult founding member Albert Bouchard is returning to his Long Island musical roots for a special night celebrating the newest chapter of a project decades in the making.

The Long Island Music & Entertainment Hall of Fame will host Albert Bouchard’s Imaginos Band on Oct. 17 at 8 p.m. for a live performance marking the release of “Imaginos IV: Rhyme of the Star Clock.”

The night will also feature a sneak peek at an upcoming “Imaginos” film before the concert.

“Albert has spent the past ten years doing a deep dive into revisiting the words and lyrics of the late Sandy Pearlman’s ‘Imaginos’ story,” LIMEHOF co-founder Norm Prusslin said. “LIMEHOF is honored to host the release party for the fourth installment of these re-imagined songs.”

Bouchard, a LIMEHOF inductee, helped found Blue Öyster Cult and was the drummer behind the Long Island-born rock band’s rise to international success. The group is known for classics including “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper,” “Burnin’ for You” and “Godzilla.”

“The Imaginos Band is bringing ‘Imaginos IV: Rhyme of the Star Clock’ to LIMEHOF for one night; the record release party,” Bouchard said. “Four members, one stage, the album cover where it belongs — lit, present, and performed.”

Bouchard has spent years revisiting “Imaginos,” an elaborate concept originally developed by Pearlman, Blue Öyster Cult’s longtime manager, producer and lyricist.

“I told him that I was going to record all three of these albums and do the series like we originally planned,” Bouchard recalled of visiting Pearlman in 2016.

The Imaginos Band will perform songs from the new album along with Blue Öyster Cult classics. A meet-and-greet with Bouchard and the band will follow.

The concert will be held at LIMEHOF, 97 Main St. in Stony Brook. Concert-only tickets are $25 and available through limusichalloffame.org.
