An East Patchogue man was arrested Thursday after investigators allegedly found more than 50 AI-generated child sexual abuse images on electronic devices seized from his home, Suffolk County police said.

Nicholas Zavesky, 43, was charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child and possessing a sexual performance by a child, according to police.

The investigation began after Suffolk County police received a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, authorities said. Detectives with the department’s Digital Forensics Unit executed a search warrant August 13th at Zavesky’s home on Knot St. in East Patchogue and seized multiple electronic devices.

Police said investigators examining the devices discovered more than 50 images that depicted child sexual abuse and had been artificially edited using images taken from social media platforms.

Zavesky, a resident of the home, was arrested at about 7 a.m. Thursday, police said.

He was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip.

The charges are accusations, and Zavesky is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
