Breeze Airways Adds Nonstop Tampa Flights From MacArthur Airport
Twice-weekly service begins Jan. 6, with introductory fares starting at $129

Breeze Airways will begin nonstop service between Long Island MacArthur Airport and Tampa International Airport on Jan. 6, Islip Town officials announced, expanding the airline's footprint at the Ronkonkoma airport to 10 nonstop destinations.
The flights will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays using Airbus A220 aircraft, with introductory fares starting at $129 through FlyBreeze.com, officials said.
With the addition of Tampa, Breeze will serve destinations including Fort Myers, Vero Beach and Sarasota in Florida; Wilmington and Raleigh-Durham in North Carolina; Charleston and Myrtle Beach in South Carolina; and Norfolk and Richmond in Virginia, officials said.
Airport Commissioner Rob Schneider noted that the new twice-weekly nonstops, combined with four weekly BreezeThru connecting options, give Long Island travelers six weekly ways to reach the Tampa Bay area. JetBlue, Frontier and Southwest also fly to Tampa from MacArthur Airport.
Island Supervisor Angie Carpenter said the community remains committed to working with airlines to expand options for local residents. Councilman John Lorenzo said the new route strengthens regional connections to important markets and supports economic development through tourism and business travel.
