Suffolk Police Put 80 Vehicles Up For Auction

The Suffolk County Police Department will put approximately 80 vehicles on the auction block Saturday, September 26th, giving you a chance to bid on sedans, SUVs and other vehicles starting at $500.

The department’s Impound Section will hold the auction at 9 a.m. at the Suffolk County Police Impound Facility, 100 Old Country Road in Westhampton. The auction will be held rain or shine.

Potential buyers will have two opportunities to inspect the vehicles before auction day. Previews will be held September 24th and September 25th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the impound yard. Vehicles can also be viewed for one hour before bidding begins September 26th.

All vehicles are sold “as is,” and all sales are final.

The auction is cash only, although exact certified bank checks can be used to complete full payment. Bidders must be at least 18 years old and present a valid government-issued ID to register.

Winning bids of up to $2,000 must be paid in full immediately. For bids exceeding $2,000, buyers must make an immediate non-refundable deposit of $2,000 plus 25% of the remaining balance.

Vehicles are sold with a Suffolk County Police Department Bill of Sale rather than a title.

Buyers are responsible for researching possible liens, VIN information and vehicle histories before bidding. Some vehicles may be sold with salvage certificates and require additional state DMV inspections.

Buyers must also arrange to tow purchased vehicles from the impound facility. Vehicles cannot be driven from the property.
