Before you vote this November, remember these illegal immigration stats

When it comes to the issue of immigration, President Trump has been a victim of his own success. He rode into reelection on a platform of closing off the border and deporting those who came here illegally in the Biden administration.
His sealing of the border occurred remarkably quickly. It didn’t require comprehensive immigration reform, as so many liberals in government and the media proclaimed. It just took a new president willing to enforce existing law.
Here are some stats you should remember that were provided by the Center for Immigration Studies and the Washington Examiner’s editorial dated September 8, 2026.
No illegal immigrants have been released into the United States from the southern border for 15 straight months.
The number of illegal immigrants in the US has declined by 2 million since Trump took office.
The Center for Immigration Studies analysis of the census estimates that the foreign-born population in the US increased by 8.3 million in Biden‘s term.
The largest four-year increase in history.
5.4 million of that increase were illegal immigrants.
Since Trump took office, foreign born population declined by 2.9 million with 2.3 of them being illegally here.
Trump declared that those who crossed illegally would be restricted from invoking provisions of the Immigration Act that would permit their continued presence in the US.
DHS also wanted to maximize detentions rather than letting these individuals roam American streets. $45 billion was added to ICE enforcement.
279 weak immigration judges were fired or resigned. That was about 38% of the bench.
Those claiming asylum were denied 94% of the time compared to only about 50% in June 2024 when Biden was in office.
50,000 illegal immigrants are being arrested per month.
The Trump administration‘s aggressive policy on immigration has reaped significant rewards, including a record reduction in crime and a gradual lowering of rents in areas where deportations have been at higher levels.
Yet, remarkably, Trump is underwater in polling on the immigration issue. This is in large part because of the volatility that has been associated with the arrest of illegal immigrants in ICE operations.
On this note, it is interesting to see how successful the Democrats have been in encouraging conflict with ICE, which in turn led to violent outcomes and a public pushback against the operations themselves.
A huge segment of the population continues to be oblivious to the fact that it is the Democrats’ sanctuary city policies that are responsible for the violent confrontations. In red states, where local authorities cooperate with ICE, the criminal illegal aliens are apprehended at the jailhouse and are deported without incident. It’s only in the sanctuary cities where the local authorities are forbidden from working with ICE that the problem occurs.
These blue city leaders allow the criminal aliens to leave the jailhouse and wander back into the communities. That thereafter requires ICE sting operations to surveil and apprehend the criminal illegal aliens.
But these aliens have been prepped by Democratic officials and liberal NGOs in the illegal immigration lobby on to how to detect ICE officers and to repel them. This inevitably can lead to conflict, and when the conflict occurs, people throw up their hands and say they don’t want to deal with this mess any longer.
It is quite the paradox. When polled, the overwhelming number of Americans say they want the border secure and at least criminal illegal aliens deported. But then, when ICE seeks to deport them and confrontations ensue, the public immediately turns against the administration seeking to enforce the law.
This is exactly the trap that the Democrats want the majority of the population to fall into. It is the goal of the Democrats to keep as many illegal immigrants remaining in America as possible (since they see them as a future voting bloc), and that includes even the criminal ones, as evidenced by the fierce opposition that Democrats had with ICE agents in New York last week seeking to deport a known illegal immigrant gang member with a long rap sheet.
The president came into office and advanced policies that the public said they wanted. The statistics have proven that these efforts have been successful. If the public were to put back in office those who promote sanctuary cities, an open border, and the defunding of ICE, we shouldn’t be surprised when the massive border surges that we saw under the Biden administration become commonplace once more.
Think hard about that one. Is that really what we want?
