The Ward Melville High School cheerleading team recently celebrated a moment that will inspire student-athletes for years to come as the program unveiled its new New York State Championship banners.

The banners, which will proudly hang in the school's gymnasium and stadium, serve as a lasting tribute to one of the most successful cheerleading programs in the state. Every practice, game and competition held beneath them will remind future Patriots of the dedication, teamwork and commitment required to reach the top.

The latest banner commemorates Ward Melville's third consecutive New York State Game Day Championship and the program's fourth overall state title, further cementing its place among the premier cheerleading programs in New York.

The championship run is a reflection of countless hours of practice, determination and school pride. Throughout the season, the team showcased not only its athletic ability but also the leadership, sportsmanship and positive attitude that have become hallmarks of the Ward Melville cheerleading program.

The Three Village Central School District praised the team for its remarkable accomplishments both on and off the mat.

"Congratulations, cheer team! We are so proud of this accomplishment and how you conduct yourselves as student-athletes," the district said in a statement.

While championship trophies and medals are treasured keepsakes, the newly unveiled banners will stand as a permanent reminder of what this team achieved together.
