The Town of Brookhaven recently celebrated its latest pickleball champions, recognizing the winners of the town’s 3.0-3.5 league following a fun and competitive series of matches.

The event brought pickleball players from throughout the community together for some exciting competition, with participants showing off their skills while enjoying the growing sport that has become increasingly popular across Long Island.

The Town of Brookhaven praised everyone who took part, noting that the tournament had a tremendous turnout and featured plenty of great games.

“It was a wonderful turnout and some great games,” the town said.

While the latest championship has wrapped up, pickleball players in Brookhaven won’t have to wait long for another opportunity to get on the court. The town already has several events planned for October, giving local players even more chances to compete, meet other players and enjoy the sport.

One of the upcoming events is a women’s 3.0 and 3.5 round-robin tournament, scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 20. The tournament will give female players an opportunity to compete against one another in what promises to be another fun day of pickleball action.

Brookhaven is also getting into the Halloween spirit with a special Pickleball Halloween event on Oct. 18. In addition to pickleball, the event will feature prizes for the best costumes and raffles, adding a little extra fun to the competition.

The combination of competition and community has helped make pickleball such a popular activity in Brookhaven. Players of different ages and skill levels have embraced the sport, which offers a great way to stay active while spending time with friends and neighbors.

With championships recently decided and more events already on the calendar, it looks like there will be plenty of opportunities for Brookhaven residents to grab a paddle, hit the courts and join in on the pickleball fun this fall.
