Hills West Honors Legendary Coach Tom “Migs” Migliozzi

Half Hollow Hills West took a moment to recognize one of its most accomplished and beloved coaches, honoring Tom “Migs” Migliozzi with a special ceremony before his final football coaching appearance on Saturday, October 31.

Migliozzi has been a fixture in the Half Hollow Hills athletic community since joining the coaching staff in the mid-1990s. Over more than three decades, he has built an extraordinary record of success, collecting 580 victories across two sports and leaving a lasting impression on generations of student-athletes.

His impressive coaching résumé includes 108 wins in junior varsity football and 472 victories as the varsity baseball coach. Those numbers represent years of dedication, preparation and commitment to the student-athletes who have had the opportunity to play under his guidance.

While the victories are certainly a remarkable accomplishment, Migliozzi’s impact on the district extends well beyond the scoreboard. Throughout his time at Half Hollow Hills, he has been part of countless seasons, memorable moments and experiences that have helped shape the school's athletic programs and the lives of the young people who have come through them.

The ceremony at Hills West provided an opportunity for the school community to recognize his contributions as he approaches the final chapter of his coaching career.

Migliozzi is preparing to retire at the conclusion of the 2026-27 school year, but the district plans to give him another special sendoff this spring. A second celebration is expected to take place before a Hills West baseball game, giving players, families, colleagues and the community another opportunity to honor his remarkable career.

The district summed up the occasion with a heartfelt message: “Thank you, Coach Migs, for more than 30 years of dedication to Half Hollow Hills!”

After 580 victories and more than 30 years on the sidelines and baseball diamond, Coach Migs has certainly earned the recognition.
