Knicks Legend ‘Clyde’ Frazier Brings Basketball Wisdom to Mastic

Young basketball players in Brookhaven had a special opportunity this past week when New York Knicks legend Walt “Clyde” Frazier made a special appearance at Brookhaven’s annual 3-on-3 Basketball Challenge in Mastic.

Frazier, one of the most recognizable figures in Knicks history, spent time speaking with the young athletes and sharing stories, advice and inspiration during his visit. For the kids participating in the event, having a Basketball Hall of Famer and two-time NBA champion in their community made for a memorable experience.

The former Knicks star spoke directly to the young players about his own journey and the work that went into building a Hall of Fame career. Frazier emphasized the importance of hard work, teamwork, staying in school and, perhaps most importantly, believing in yourself.

His message went well beyond basketball.

Frazier also shared stories from his legendary Knicks career, giving the young athletes a glimpse into what it was like to play at the highest level of the sport. While his individual accomplishments helped make him a basketball icon, Frazier reminded the crowd that success on the court is rarely achieved alone.
