The Terriers are Barking

North Carolina is clearly the more talented team, but that doesn't mean the Tar Heels should be laying this many points. Wofford may not be on UNC's level overall, but the gap between these two teams isn't nearly as wide as this number suggests. I'll gladly take the Terriers and the points.
There are some glaring weaknesses with this North Carolina team, and one of the biggest is its work on the glass. The Tar Heels were outrebounded 41-32 in their opener against Western Carolina and surrendered 13 offensive rebounds. That's particularly concerning because rebounding was already considered a potential problem entering the season.
UNC also hasn't found its shooting rhythm from beyond the arc. The Tar Heels struggled with their perimeter shooting throughout the preseason and continued to fire away in their opener, finishing just 9-of-30 from three-point range against Western Carolina. That's a 30% shooting performance, and if those shots aren't falling, covering a massive spread becomes much more difficult.
Wofford opened its season against Tennessee, a team that plays at an elite level and put up 90 points. The Terriers certainly had their hands full, but there were positives to take away from that matchup. Despite facing a high-powered Volunteers team, Wofford remained competitive against the number for much of the contest.
Now the Terriers get an opportunity to exploit some of the same issues that showed up in UNC's opener. If Wofford can compete on the boards, limit second-chance opportunities and knock down a few shots from the perimeter, there's no reason it can't hang around.
I'm not suggesting Wofford is going to walk into this game and pull off an outright upset. But asking UNC to win by 25 or more is a different story.
The Pick: Wofford +24.5
I'll take the Terriers and nearly three dozen possessions worth of breathing room. That's simply too many points to pass up.
