LaRocca Makes Sachem Football History

The Sachem North football team closed out its regular season in impressive fashion Friday night, earning a convincing 34-12 victory over Connetquot to finish the season with a 7-1 record.

While the victory was another strong team effort, the evening belonged to senior quarterback Luke LaRocca, who made program history by breaking two long-standing career records.

LaRocca rushed for two touchdowns in the victory, bringing his career totals to 52 touchdowns and 312 points. Those numbers surpassed the previous Sachem football records held by Dalton Crossan, whose marks of 50 career touchdowns and 300 points had stood for 15 years.

Becoming the program's all-time leader in both touchdowns and points is an incredible accomplishment for LaRocca, who has left his mark on Sachem football through his consistency and production throughout his high school career. His record-breaking performance added another memorable moment to an already successful season for the Arrows.

LaRocca wasn't the only Sachem player finding the end zone. Jojo Cannone also had a big night, rushing for two touchdowns of his own to help lead the North offense. The Arrows' defense contributed as well, with Gavin Nuzzi recording an interception and a touchdown.

Sachem North's balanced performance on both sides of the ball proved too much for Connetquot, which finished its season with a 4-4 record. The 34-12 victory gave the Arrows a strong finish to their regular season and provided plenty of momentum heading forward.

For Sachem North, it was a night to remember, combining a dominant team victory with a historic individual achievement. LaRocca's record-breaking accomplishment adds his name to the top of the program's record books, cementing his place in Sachem football history.
