Rocky Point Cheerleaders Make History with Section XI Championship

The Rocky Point varsity cheerleading team has reached a historic milestone, capturing the Class B co-championship at the Section XI Game Day Cheerleading Championships held at Brentwood High School this past weekend.

The championship marks the first time in Rocky Point school history that the Eagles have earned a Section XI Game Day Cheerleading title, making the accomplishment an especially memorable moment for the program and the entire school community.

After months of preparation, practice and dedication, the Rocky Point cheerleaders delivered an outstanding performance to earn their place among the top teams in Suffolk County. Their success reflects the countless hours spent perfecting routines, building teamwork and preparing for the opportunity to compete at the highest level.

Being crowned Class B co-champions is a tremendous achievement for a program that continues to build its reputation in competitive cheerleading. The accomplishment also highlights the commitment of the student-athletes and coaches who have worked together throughout the season to reach this goal.

The Rocky Point School District shared its excitement over the historic achievement, recognizing the dedication and effort that helped make the championship possible.

"We are incredibly proud of this team, their coaches, and all the hard work, dedication, and commitment that made this historic achievement possible," the district stated.

While the Eagles have plenty of reasons to celebrate, their season isn't over just yet. Rocky Point will now turn its attention to the next challenge, as the team heads to the Hudson Valley Civic Center next Saturday to compete in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Game Day Cheerleading Championships.

The upcoming state competition gives the Eagles another opportunity to showcase their talent and represent Rocky Point on an even bigger stage.

For now, the team can take pride in making school history and bringing home a championship that will be remembered for years to come.
