McCormick is a National Champion

Bay Shore High School's Maggie McCormick added another remarkable chapter to her outstanding track and field career by capturing a national championship at the prestigious New Balance Outdoor Nationals.

Competing against some of the top high school distance runners from across the country, McCormick claimed first place in the girls' two-mile race while setting a new meet record, an incredible accomplishment on one of the sport's biggest stages.

McCormick's championship performance showcased the hard work, determination and dedication that have made her one of the premier distance runners in the nation. Racing against an elite field, she delivered an unforgettable performance to bring home a national title for Bay Shore and etch her name into the meet's record books.

As impressive as her victory was, McCormick wasn't finished.

She also earned a third-place finish in the girls' one-mile race, demonstrating her versatility and endurance while competing against the nation's best athletes. Excelling in two demanding distance events at a national championship meet is a testament to both her talent and relentless work ethic.

The New Balance Outdoor Nationals annually attracts many of the country's top high school track and field athletes, making McCormick's accomplishments even more impressive.
