Patchogue-Medford baseball alum Josh Knoth continues to make his mark in professional baseball, earning recognition as one of the Milwaukee Brewers organization’s Minor League Players of the Year.

Knoth, 21, graduated from Patchogue-Medford High School in 2023 before seeing his baseball dreams become a reality just weeks later. The right-handed pitcher was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the first round of the 2023 MLB Draft, giving the longtime Red Raider a chance to begin his professional career.

Three years later, Knoth has continued to climb the minor league ladder while establishing himself as one of the promising young pitchers in the Brewers organization.

Knoth finished the 2026 season with a 4.11 earned-run average and a 6-3 record while striking out 87 batters in 22 appearances. Even more impressive, those numbers came while pitching across three different levels of the Brewers’ minor league system.

Moving through multiple levels in a single season can be a challenge for any young player, but Knoth continued to compete and develop as he worked his way through the organization.

For those who watched Knoth during his days at Patchogue-Medford, his latest accomplishment is another exciting chapter in the career of a local athlete who has been on the baseball radar for years.

The jump from high school baseball on Long Island to professional baseball is a significant one, and Knoth has continued to show that he belongs at the next level. Being recognized by the Brewers organization after a season that included stops at three different minor league levels is another important milestone in his development.

Now just 21 years old, Knoth has plenty of baseball ahead of him as he continues his journey toward the major leagues.

From Patchogue-Medford High School to being a first-round MLB Draft selection and now earning organizational recognition, Knoth’s professional journey is one local baseball fans will be keeping a close eye on as he continues to work his way through the Brewers system.
