Rocky Point's Trevor Green Leads by Example

Rocky Point High School senior Trevor Green has earned first place in the Long Island Spring Sports Heroes Video Challenge, a well-deserved honor recognizing his outstanding commitment to serving others both on and off the field.

Sponsored by Team Up 4 Community, the annual challenge encourages Long Island student-athletes, teams and organizations to showcase how they are making a positive impact in their communities during the spring sports season. The initiative highlights athletes who step beyond competition to demonstrate leadership, compassion and a dedication to helping others.

Green stood out among participants for his meaningful work preserving the stories of America's veterans through his volunteer efforts at the VFW Suffolk County WWII & History Museum. His commitment to honoring those who served has helped ensure that the sacrifices and experiences of local veterans continue to be remembered and shared with future generations.

In addition to his work with the museum, Green has been an advocate for environmental sustainability by organizing and participating in community recycling projects. His efforts have encouraged residents to recycle, reduce waste and take an active role in protecting the local environment, proving that even small actions can make a lasting difference.
