Sachem North Stays Perfect as Luke LaRocca Rewrites the Record Books

The Sachem North football team continues to roll, improving to a perfect 4-0 on the season after doubling up Longwood, 42-21, in Saturday’s matchup.

While the victory was another impressive team effort, senior quarterback Luke LaRocca once again stole the spotlight by adding several more accomplishments to an already record-setting career.

During Saturday’s victory, LaRocca reached 3,000 career passing yards and broke his own Sachem North single-game record by throwing five touchdown passes. With the latest milestones, LaRocca now holds every passing record in Sachem football history and continues to raise the bar for future quarterbacks in the program.

LaRocca wasn’t the only Sachem North player making history.

Jon Mullaly turned in a monster performance, hauling in eight passes for 168 yards and three touchdowns. His eight receptions rank fourth in Sachem history for a single game, while his 168 receiving yards are now third all-time. His three touchdown receptions also tied him for the top spot in the Sachem record book for most in a single game.

Lucas Bouchard made an impact in multiple ways, returning a kickoff for a touchdown while also catching a touchdown pass. Joey Vulin added another touchdown reception as the North offense continued to pile up points.

The Sachem defense also made sure to get in on the action. JoJo Cannone led the defensive effort with an interception, helping the Flaming Arrows maintain control throughout the afternoon.

At 4-0, Sachem North has established itself as one of the area’s hottest teams, and the numbers suggest this is a group with plenty of firepower on both sides of the ball.

The most impressive part may be that LaRocca and his teammates are accomplishing all of this while continuing to add their names to the Sachem record books.

With LaRocca leading the offense and playmakers such as Mullaly, Bouchard and Vulin contributing, the Flaming Arrows have plenty of reasons to believe this undefeated start could be the beginning of something special.
