Season of Success Ends with Awards for Hills Softball

Members of the Half Hollow Hills varsity softball team were recognized for their outstanding performances this season at the Suffolk County Softball Coaches Association Awards Dinner held last week.

Several Thunderbirds earned postseason honors following a successful campaign, showcasing the talent and dedication that helped make the team competitive throughout the year.

Leading the way was Lucia DeGrotta, who received All-County honors in recognition of her exceptional play and contributions on the field. The prestigious award is presented to some of Suffolk County's top softball players and reflects DeGrotta's hard work, leadership and consistent performance throughout the season.

Lucy Feigenbaum and Alexa Ferguson were both named All-Division, earning recognition for their strong seasons and the important roles they played for the Thunderbirds. Their efforts helped provide leadership and stability as Half Hollow Hills competed against some of the county's top programs.

Danica Golden and Avery Yopp were also honored, receiving All-League recognition for their outstanding performances. Their selections highlighted the depth of talent throughout the Half Hollow Hills roster and rewarded the dedication they displayed all season long.
