Seawolves Open With a Bang

The Stony Brook women's soccer team will open its regular season at home on August 13, and the Seawolves aren't easing into the new campaign.

Stony Brook will begin the season with a marquee matchup against UConn at LaValle Stadium, giving the Seawolves an early opportunity to test themselves against a non-conference powerhouse. The home opener is followed by another home contest on August 16, when Stony Brook welcomes New Haven to LaValle Stadium.

After the two-game homestand, the Seawolves will hit the road for back-to-back contests, traveling to Harvard on August 20 before visiting Fairleigh Dickinson on August 27.

The non-conference portion of the schedule continues with another pair of home games. Stony Brook will host Penn on August 30 and Lehigh on September 6, with a road trip to Loyola Maryland on September 3 sandwiched between the two contests.

The Seawolves will close out non-conference play on September 13 when they travel to face SUNY rival UAlbany. It's another challenging matchup that should provide Stony Brook with plenty of preparation before the start of CAA play.

Conference action officially gets underway September 20, when the Seawolves return home to LaValle Stadium to host Monmouth. Stony Brook will then hit the road for three straight conference games, traveling to Elon on September 24, Campbell on September 27 and Towson on October 4.

The Seawolves return home October 8 to host Hampton before welcoming William & Mary to LaValle Stadium. Stony Brook will then make another road trip, heading to Drexel on October 18.

The regular-season home schedule concludes October 25 when Northeastern visits LaValle Stadium.

Stony Brook will wrap up the regular season November 1 with the latest installment of the Battle of Long Island, traveling to Hempstead to take on rival Hofstra.

With a challenging non-conference slate, a competitive CAA schedule and several marquee matchups at LaValle Stadium, the Seawolves will have plenty of opportunities to make an early statement when the season gets underway.
