Skubal Will Shove Today

Tarik Skubal looks like he's completely back, and that's bad news for opposing hitters. The Tigers' ace is pitching as well as anyone in baseball right now, and I love this spot for him to work deep into the game.

Skubal has been on an incredible run, recording nine or more strikeouts in five of his last six starts. Just as importantly, he's been incredibly efficient. He's worked at least seven innings in each of his last two outings, and since returning from injury, he would have cashed this prop in five of his seven starts.

Today's matchup only adds to the appeal. He'll face an Orioles lineup that was shut out yesterday and has struggled to generate consistent offense. There's also plenty of speculation that this could be Skubal's final start in a Tigers uniform before the trade deadline. Whether that proves to be true or not, Detroit will undoubtedly want its ace to put on one more dominant performance.

The prop is set at Over 17.5 Outs Recorded, which means we're simply asking Skubal to complete six innings. Given the way he's been throwing the ball lately, that number feels a bit short. He's been missing bats, limiting traffic on the bases, and working deep into games with regularity.

Everything lines up for another vintage Skubal performance. He's in dominant form, the matchup is favorable, and the number isn't asking him to do anything he hasn't been doing consistently.

Best Bet: Tarik Skubal Over 17.5 Outs Recorded. Six innings feels well within reach, and if Skubal continues pitching the way he has over the past month, this is a prop I'm more than willing to back.
