The NFL has suspended Arizona Cardinals personnel executive Ryan Gold following an investigation into gambling activity involving the 2026 NFL Draft.

According to the league, Gold placed a $25 parlay wager involving the Cardinals' first five draft selections, including quarterback Carson Beck. The wager ultimately paid out an astonishing $732,500.

However, the size of the payout was only part of the story.

The NFL's investigation concluded that Gold provided confidential, non-public information regarding the Cardinals' 2026 draft selections before the picks were announced. The league also determined that Gold participated in parlay bets involving both NFL and college football games, actions that violate the league's gambling policy designed to protect the integrity of the sport.

Gold is entering his 13th season with the Cardinals organization and has steadily climbed through the team's scouting department. He was promoted to Director of College Scouting in June 2025 after serving as the Assistant Director of College Scouting from 2022-24. Before that, he spent four seasons as the club's College Scouting Coordinator from 2018-21.

The suspension serves as another reminder of the NFL's continued emphasis on enforcing its gambling policies. In recent years, the league has handed down numerous suspensions to players and team personnel for violating betting rules, stressing that protecting the integrity of the game remains a top priority.

Gold has the right to appeal the suspension under the NFL's disciplinary process.
