South Shore Press Sports Director Tom Barton believes one of the best NFL betting values on the board involves Las Vegas Raiders rookie running back Ashton Jeanty.

Barton joined South Shore Press Managing Editor Stefan Mychajliw for this week's edition of Barton's Best Bet, explaining why he expects Jeanty to easily surpass his projected rushing total.

Stefan Mychajliw: Always my favorite Video Vault to shoot—Barton's Best Bet. Tom, you're looking at the Las Vegas Raiders for this week's pick, correct?

Tom Barton: Absolutely. This one is mind-boggling to me. Ashton Jeanty's rushing total is set at 975.5 yards. At some sportsbooks you can even find it at 950.5. Either way, I don't understand the number. Jeanty is an absolute stud, and I think he'll clear that total.

Mychajliw: You really believe he's that good?

Barton: I do. Last season, Jeanty ranked among the league leaders in broken tackles and forced missed tackles despite running behind an offense that didn't consistently put him in favorable situations. The numbers show he's a true workhorse back. Mychajliw: So what's changed heading into this season?

Barton: The Raiders have upgraded their coaching staff and invested in improving the offensive line. Everything points to an offense that will lean heavily on Jeanty. He's going to get the opportunities, and when talented backs get volume, the production usually follows. Mychajliw: It sounds like you think the only direction for him is up.

Barton: I really do. If you're looking for a smart wager, I love the over on his rushing total. And if you want to be a little more aggressive, I'd even take a shot on Jeanty reaching 1,200 rushing yards. That's paying better than 3-to-1 at some books. That's how confident I am in his ability and the role he'll have in the Raiders' offense this season.
