SSP VIDEO VAULT: Santos Rips "Hijab Hochul"

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul is facing criticism after wearing a hijab while addressing a Muslim gathering, with the controversy erupting less than two weeks before the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Former Congressman George Santos discussed the controversy with South Shore Press Managing Editor Stefan Mychajliw.

MYCHAJLIW: George, I'm curious about the Governor's new nickname, Hijab Hochul. What are your thoughts on seeing this Twitter trend of her donning this headgear?

SANTOS: “It's always great to talk about the great Kathy Hochul, the woman of many shapes and forms. I've never seen somebody's shape shift into so many different pandering forms like this woman. But the crazy part is, for somebody who calls herself a strong, independent woman and fighter of women's rights, she kowtowed to a bunch of Muslim men and put on the infamous hijab headscarf. She deserves every bit of heat she has coming her way.”

MYCHAJLIW: How tone deaf can you be? Not just pretending to be a feminist, but we are less than two weeks before 9/11 and she pulls this stunt.

SANTOS: “It's the liberal suicidal empathy. They will welcome the fox into the hen house because poor fox, she's gonna be cold. This is exactly the kind of thing that has led our country down this dangerous path.”

MYCHAJLIW: What does it really say about Kathy Hochul and the fact that she will do anything in front of any group to get reelected?

SANTOS: “Long story short, Kathy Hochul is a weak governor who leads the largest economic engine of the country, which is New York City in her state.”

MYCHAJLIW: Doesn't it just further lead to the notion that she's the biggest fraud and hypocrite in politics?

SANTOS: “Here's the truth: is Kathy Hochul is dangerous. Kathy Hochul is not genuine, Kathy Hochul is the least organic person to be in public office, in my opinion, in today, in today's landscape, for both Republicans and Democrats. Trust me, there's plenty of fake Republicans out there too. But she really takes the cake.”
