Austin Interiors and General Contractors has completed construction of the new beach pavilion at Cupsogue County Park, finishing the Suffolk County project ahead of schedule and allowing families to begin enjoying the waterfront facility by Memorial Day, sooner than expected.
Construction began shortly after Labor Day 2025 after Suffolk County awarded the project to the Bohemia-based company.
Originally expected to be completed by July 4th, the pavilion was delivered several weeks early through an accelerated construction schedule completed entirely by Austin Interiors' in-house local union workforce.
The more than 3,000-square-foot wood-framed pavilion features a commercial kitchen, gift shop, men's and women's restrooms, family and ADA-accessible restroom facilities, and two spacious wood-frame and composite decks.
One deck provides public seating overlooking the Great South Bay, while the second offers vendor seating and bar service, creating a welcoming destination for residents and visitors alike.
In addition to constructing the pavilion, Austin Interiors completed all site work and installed new HVAC, plumbing, electrical and fire protection systems, delivering Suffolk County a modern waterfront facility built to serve the public for decades.
Since opening in late May, the pavilion has quickly become a centerpiece of the Cupsogue Beach experience.
The venue has hosted live music performances, cornhole leagues, community gatherings and countless visitors enjoying sunsets over the Great South Bay.
It also served as the site of a community watch party celebrating the New York Knicks' historic NBA championship, bringing neighbors together for a memorable evening on the waterfront.
"This project is a great example of what can be accomplished when you have an experienced team working toward a common goal," said Bill Hardy, Chief Operating Officer of Austin Interiors.
"From our project managers and superintendents to every skilled tradesperson on site, everyone took tremendous pride in delivering this pavilion ahead of schedule without compromising quality. Seeing families, friends and visitors already making memories here is incredibly rewarding, and we're honored to have built a space that will serve the community for many years to come."
Founded in 1991 as a ceiling and drywall contractor, Austin Interiors has evolved into a full-service union carpentry, general contracting, emergency response and public works construction company, completing projects throughout Long Island while continuing to expand its capabilities and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
