Illegal Immigrant Guilty of 4th Felony DWI

A repeat drunk driver who was deported after racking up three felony DWI convictions is back in the U.S. illegally, and has now been convicted of felony DWI for a fourth time, Suffolk County prosecutors said.

Pablo Aguilar-Alvarez, 36, a Salvadoran national, was found guilty Friday of driving drunk with a blood alcohol level of .17%, more than twice the legal limit, after cops spotted him blowing a stop sign and crossing double-yellow lines in Southampton, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.

Prosecutors said Aguilar-Alvarez had been drinking November 29th, 2025 when he and his girlfriend stopped at a USA Gas Station to buy more booze. While inside, his girlfriend quietly asked the clerk to call 911.

Police tracked down the car and pulled it over after witnessing the erratic driving, prosecutors said.

Aguilar-Alvarez then allegedly climbed out through the passenger side in an apparent attempt to hide the fact that he had been behind the wheel.

He failed field sobriety tests before registering the .17% BAC, authorities said.

The conviction is Aguilar-Alvarez’s fourth felony DWI rap in less than a decade, on top of a 2012 misdemeanor DWI conviction.

Records show he was deported in March 2024 because of his prior felony convictions and later returned to the country illegally, according to prosecutors.

The DA’s office asked Judge Bryan L. Browns to lock Aguilar-Alvarez up following the guilty verdict, arguing that he posed a danger and could flee Suffolk County.

The judge denied the request and released him pending his October 2nd sentencing.

“There is no question that Pablo Aguilar-Alvarez is a danger to society,” DA Raymond Tierney said.

Aguilar-Alvarez faces up to seven years behind bars.
