Suffolk County National Night Out Community Events

Communities across Suffolk County will come together on Tuesday, Aug. 4, as police departments and local organizations host National Night Out celebrations designed to connect residents with the officers who serve their neighborhoods through an evening of free family fun.

The Suffolk County Police Department will host events in all seven precincts, with activities ranging from food and live entertainment to children's games, police demonstrations, emergency vehicle displays and community resource exhibits.

In Brookhaven Town, several major events are planned. The Seventh Precinct will host its celebration from 5 to 8 p.m. at William Floyd High School in Mastic Beach. Families can enjoy free food sponsored by Applebee's of Shirley, child identification kits, bounce houses, police and EMS vehicle displays, giveaways and activities for children of all ages.

The Sixth Precinct will welcome residents to the Centereach Pool Complex from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Organizers expect thousands of attendees for an evening featuring free swimming, live music, a Touch-a-Truck exhibit, food trucks, vendors and opportunities to meet first responders.

Elsewhere across Suffolk County, the First Precinct will host National Night Out at Wyandanch Park from 4 to 8 p.m., while the Second Precinct's event will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at Manor Field Park in Huntington Station.

The Third Precinct will celebrate from 6 to 10 p.m. at Roberto Clemente Park in Brentwood.

The Fourth Precinct will gather at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove from 5 to 8 p.m., and the Fifth Precinct will host its event at the Holtsville Ecology Center from 5 to 8 p.m.

Riverhead Town Police will also host a National Night Out celebration from 5 to 8 p.m. at Riverhead Town Square in downtown Riverhead.

All events are free and open to the public.
