Long Island hockey fans have another reason to get excited as the countdown to the 2027 NHL All-Star Weekend officially continues. This past week, the NHL unveiled the official logo for the 2027 NHL All-Star Game, which will be hosted by the New York Islanders at UBS Arena.

The festivities are scheduled for Feb. 5-6, 2027, and the newly released logo pays tribute to both the Islanders and Long Island's rich hockey heritage.

The most eye-catching feature is a lighthouse cleverly created using the second "L" in "All-Star," a fitting nod to one of Long Island's most recognizable landmarks. Fans will also notice waves inspired by the Islanders' classic Fisherman-era logo along the bottom of the design, while a hockey puck positioned after the word "Star" appears to be flying toward the goal.

Beyond the logo, the NHL is also introducing an exciting new format for All-Star Weekend.

The Skills Competition will feature 10 of the league's brightest stars who are 25 years old or younger competing in eight different events. Players will participate in at least four of the first six challenges, including Fastest Skater, Hardest Shot, Passing Challenge, One-Timers, Stick Handling and Accuracy Shooting.

The top four competitors will then advance to a shootout against the All-Star goaltenders before the final two battle in the Obstacle Course Finale. The winner will earn the title of NHL Skills Competition Champion along with a $1 million prize.

The All-Star Game itself will also have a fresh look, featuring five international teams—Canada, Finland, Sweden, the United States and a World team—competing in a three-on-three round-robin tournament. Each roster will include 11 players, consisting of nine skaters and two goaltenders, with fans helping determine the final lineups through voting.

With a brand-new logo unveiled and excitement already building, Long Island is preparing to welcome hockey fans from around the world for what promises to be an unforgettable 2027 NHL All-Star Weekend.
