The Chicago Blackhawks have been a nightmare on the road this season, and their inability to score makes this a particularly difficult matchup against a Boston team looking to bounce back. We're laying the -210 with the Bruins in a spot that strongly favors the home team.
Chicago is a dismal 0-6 on the road this season, managing just seven goals in those six games. That's barely more than one goal per contest, and the offensive struggles have become a major concern. The Blackhawks have now been held to two goals or fewer in five consecutive games. When you're struggling to score at that level, winning hockey games becomes an uphill battle.
Boston returns home following a disappointing 0-2 road trip, but I actually like that situation for the Bruins. They have been excellent on their home ice, winning four straight at home and posting a 6-1 record overall this season. This is a team that has clearly been more comfortable playing in front of its home crowd.
The defensive numbers are just as encouraging. Boston has held five of its seven home opponents to two goals or fewer, which is particularly important against a Chicago offense that simply can't find the back of the net right now.
The price isn't cheap at -210, but sometimes you have to pay for the better team in the better spot. Chicago has shown absolutely nothing to suggest it can turn things around on the road, while Boston has every reason to come out motivated after its two-game road skid.
I'll lay the price and look for the Bruins to take care of business at home. Boston -210 is the play
