Burke Has Them Looking

Sean Burke has quietly become one of the most underrated strikeout pitchers in baseball, and I think the betting market is still undervaluing him.

The right-hander has been outstanding over the past month, allowing just two earned runs over his last 20 innings. Zoom out a little further, and the consistency becomes even more impressive. Burke has surrendered only six earned runs over his last six starts, and no opponent has managed to score more than two runs against him during that stretch.

What's really catching my attention, though, is the strikeout production. Burke has taken his game to another level, recording 25 strikeouts over his last 19 innings. He's recorded six or more strikeouts in nine of his last 10 starts and has finished with at least five strikeouts in each of his last 13 outings. That's the kind of consistency I look for when betting pitcher props.

The books still don't seem to be giving Burke the respect he's earned. His recent form, combined with his ability to consistently miss bats, makes this number look a bit short. Unless something dramatically changes, five strikeouts feels more like his floor than his ceiling.

Best Bet: Sean Burke Over 5 Strikeouts. This is one of my favorite pitcher props on the board. Burke is in outstanding form, piling up strikeouts at an elite rate, and I think there's still value before the sportsbooks fully adjust to what he's become.
